Welcome the Birds with a Birdbath
Posted by kaviiks on August 22, 2008
Many American gardeners love nature and inviting the birds to the garden. Bird baths can be an attractive means of encouraging birds to visit your garden and besides, they also add a decorative element to the garden. These are usually available in the form of resin or concrete forms and they come with beautiful designs sometimes highlighting classical and Grecian influences while others may simply take the form of simple geometric shapes which in its simplicity, can be remarkably attractive. Place your bird bath in an area that protects it from the allure of predators like cats. Ensure that the bird bath is raised high enough such that the cat cannot trouble nor hurt the birds from enjoying their time with the water. You can also install bird baths near shrubs or trees that protect the birds and give privacy to them. While bird baths can add an aesthetic look to the garden landscape, they also serve well the function it is designed to do which is to invite and encourage regular visits from your feathered friends. So, be sure to keep your bird bath filled with water constantly. Your friendly birds will be looking for it each time they take flight through your gardens!
